Bangladesh – The Employment Generation Program for the Poorest Project

WASHINGTON, November 30, 2010 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

 

IDA Credit: US$150 million equivalent

Terms: Maturity = 40 years; Grace = 10 years

Project ID: P118701

 

Project Description: The development objective of the project is to provide short-term employment in community sub-projects so that households are better prepared to cope with vulnerability. In addition the program will improve governance through clearer rules and transparency and strengthen the capacity for monitoring and evaluation.
