Bangladesh – Emergency Repatriation and Livelihood Restoration of Migrant Workers Project

WASHINGTON, April 26, 2011 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

 

IDA Credit: US$40 million equivalent

Terms: Maturity = 40 years; Grace = 10 years

Project ID: P126263

 

Project Description: The objective of the project is to help repatriate migrant workers from Bangladesh who have fled the ongoing conflict in Libya from refugee camps in neighboring countries. The financing will provide these migrant works with a one-time cash grant to help them meet their immediate basic resettlement needs and to provide them with opportunities for labor market reinsertion both at home and abroad.
